Warum mich das Projekt fremdsehen.at fasziniert? – Für mich hat fremdsein und sich fremd fühlen sehr viel mit Neugierde zu tun: Wenn ich etwas nicht kenne, will ich mehr darüber erfahren, mehr wissen, mehr verstehen, bin also neugierig, vergleichbar mit einem Kind. Im alltäglichen Trott komme ich nicht immer dazu, dieser Neugierde nachzugeben. Aus Zeitmangel oder einfach Bequemlichkeit. “Fremdsehen” zeigt mir, was ich verliere, wenn ich mich nicht wenigstens machmal dazu aufraffe, mir wieder mehr Fremdes vertraut zu machen. |

Joachim Hainzl, Sozialpädagoge und -historiker, Obmann von XENOS – Verein zur Förderung der soziokulturellen Vielfalt. Seit rund 15 Jahren Beschäftigung mit Themen zu Sozialdisziplinierungs-, gesellschaftlichen Marginalisierungs- und Ausgrenzungsdiskursen. Neben Forschungstätigkeiten (etwa zur Geschichte der Juden und Jüdinnen in der Steiermark oder zur Verfolgung von Homosexuellen in der NS-Zeit) in den letzten Jahren steiermarkweit über 100 Workshops mit Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen-Seminare zu Antidiskriminierung und Diversity Management. Daneben Kulturprojekte im öffentlichen Raum (z.b. 2007 „pecunia non olet“ – Leistungsschau bürgerlicher Müllproduktion am Grazer Hauptplatz und 2008 „Winter im Herbst“, TO|YS, …). Weiters u.a. Idee zum und Mitarbeit am Wahlkampfmonitoring des Grazer Menschenrechtsbeirates zur Grazer GR-Wahl 2007/08. |

Über dieses Projekt
In Istanbul, Nairobi, Banja Luka geboren, in Österreich lebend bringen die 14 KünstlerInnen ihren eigenen Blick mit in die Gemeinden der regionale10. Zwei Wochen lang wohnen sie vor Ort und berichten der Welt in ihren Blogs von Liezen.
Zum Abschluss gestalten die Gäste und ihre 17 Gastgebergemeinden gemeinsam eine künstlerische Veranstaltung – man muss einander ja nicht unbedingt fremd bleiben.-
